Responsible Data Center Development

Backed by Facts.
Grounded in Michigan.
Michigan for Responsible Data Centers is a cross-sector coalition committed to ensuring Michigan communities and decision-makers have access to clear, accurate information about data centers and their local impacts.

We bring together trusted Michigan voices to elevate facts, correct misinformation, and support responsible development that delivers real community benefits and strengthens Michigan’s long-term competitiveness.

Our Goal

Ensure Michigan communities and decision-makers have access to clear, fact-based information and responsible standards for data center development. Our collective efforts will seek to eliminate misinformation and support projects that provide tangible benefits to local communities and strengthen Michigan’s competitiveness and long-term economic growth.

Why This Coalition Exists

Across Michigan and the country, data center proposals face public opposition, often fueled by misinformation that lacks an understanding of the site-specific plans and the local, state and federal regulations that guide responsible development. This creates an environment where meaningful discussion is crowded out.

This coalition exists to encourage collaboration and build trust. When government, utilities and corporations are not perceived as neutral or credible messengers, communities need access to trusted third-party information and local expertise to make good decisions.
